      Can I start leek seeds in July/August and just leave them (heavily mulched)in the garden till next spring? Our winter can go down to -25 C. Thanks.

      im a new allotment gardener and have read aome books and seen a few videos on growing leeks but havent seen anyone mention “earthing up” or blanching the stems with sections of pipes? ,is this realy needed
