It is just so ingrained in us that we need to add chemicals to the soil for
our plants. Bad habit we all need to break. It truly does come down to SOIL
TEST before adding anything. No more overdosing my soil. Keep spreading the
    word with your great videos!

I like to know if it make a difference between watering later in the day
compared to watering in mid day when the sun is stronger. I always get told
that I would burn the leaves if I water when it’s very sunny

salts. I never checked that out though. Thanks Steven. Have you ever tested

Nice video! I tend to add a very modest amount of epsom salts to my soil
mix outdoors. I understand that it’s probably not necessary. My current
house had in ground garden beds of unknown origin and they were terrible
the 1st growing season. I amended with Epsom Salt and they did much better.
This is was many years ago before I learned about compost being the way to
go. Maybe coincidence but maybe not. There’s too many other factors to be
certain, but I add I little bit to my soil mix just in case.

Fantastic information Stephen! When you think about gardening and growing
small scale food many years ago there wasn’t any need for fertilisers and
other brought ammendments. There still isn’t a need when organic matter
which is always in abundance will do the job! Great information on Epsom
    salt thank you

  • Blake Kirby says:

Great video. So I probably don’t *need* Epsom Salts, but what if I don’t
want to test my soils. Will it hurt to continue using this product? Will
there be any negative effects from adding it to the plantings even if it
    isn’t needed?

  • Brock Hughes says:

Great job bro :) I like to add a few ppm into my hydroponics nutrients
because I can change it every week but I guess it would start loading in
    soil eh?

  • FRESH PRINCESS says:

    Interesting. Wonderful. Thank you.

  • Alex NC says:

Another great video. Thanks for taking the time to do all this research and
present your data. It’s nice to see someone present it in such a concerning
manner. I am still trying to get my beds well established and inundated
with home made compost; so until then I am still planning on supplementing
them with some fertilizers (Alaska Fish emulsion fertilizer and Morbloom),
especially the heavy feeders like tomatoes.

Do you and Patrick at +OneYardRevolution | Frugal & Sustainable Organic
Gardening ever use any off the shelf fertilizers, or are y’all only using
home made compost? Your beds are much more established then mine.
